I was asked to make something recently for a fabulous young adult author. Of course I was thrilled! It was quite a task to come up with something worthy of sending to someone who, the more I read about her, the more I realised just what an incredible person she was. Not just for her books, but for the way she treats, respects and interacts with her readers minions. Grin This was what I came up with, and I hope she will like it!

I had in my mind a kind of 3D Tarot Card, with images relating to writing. I've hoarded this postal box for so long waiting for the right project to use it, the same with the pen...although I did use that until recently Cheesy Once I finally started, it all seemed to come together!

The ruler was one of my grandads, and was a bit battered so I didn't mind cutting it up. Now that I have, I have plans for the rest of it! Cheesy Her face is clay and she has a wood body. I varnished her face to protect it, so it looks a bit shiny in the photos Cheesy

*I should add that if you are a minion, please don't mention this yet as she hasn't seen it...it's a surprise!*

The typewriter keys are her initials and the main character of her books.

I only made a little addition to the box, because let's face it, it was pretty perfect already!

Thanks for looking! Smiley

But if you're a minion, don't mention it, it's a surprise! Wink

You did such a wonderful job of capturing who she is.  Thanks again!!

Knowing who it is going to, it is perfect!!

What a lovely and personal art piece!

The box is fabulous and all of the little details and the "oldness" of the goodies you put into it...

I really love the pen...
