Every year our group leader organises two charity shows, one in summer and one at Christmas. Our summer Hafla was last night and I'd decided to have a green outfit this year. I made everything apart from the black underskirt. The first was a green bra, which was just a cheap n cheerful bra which I covered with shiny green fabric, then embellished with ribbon, sequins, coins and part of an old earring. I put new straps on which I crisscrossed over the back and joined through D-rings. I find halter necks hurt my neck sometimes, although I can wear this with the straps tied behind in a halter style if I like  Wink

Then I made a belt from scratch using the same green fabric, and ribbon, coins and sequins

Then I made a divided over-skirt from embroidered organza, which was lovely on-stage because it really shimmered!

I also had my hair in braids with green yarn plaited in, and flowers although I don't think you can see them in the photos

Beautiful!  Love the belt!!  & the swirly pattern on the skirt...did you add that or is that just the pattern of the fabric??  Either way, I love it!!

*Blushes* Aww thanks everybody! The swirly pattern was an embroidered piece of glazed organza which I picked up from my local market, I just bought half a metre so it was pretty cheap. Then I cut it in half, gathered it slightly, sewed each half onto a length of ribbon, then wrapped them round me, one at the front and one at the back, tying the ribbons together at each side. I have a basic long a line skirt which I tend to use as the base for alot of my outfits, then use over-skirts to change the colour or mood  Wink Half a metre of organza or other pretty fabric doesn't usually cost very much. I think the whole outfit cost me less than a tenner to put together.
