A friend, tho not a very close friend, is having a baby shower in July.
She is a good enough friend that I want to make her something, and she loves hand made crafty things.
She is having a boy, and is doing Dr Seuss themed nursery - primary colors, etc.

I was going to make her a quilt, but now I dont think I have time, and I know of at least two other people who are crocheting blankets (to which her response is, 'what will I need tons of blankets for?')

I can do just about anything, but I am completely uninspired.
paint onesies with Dr Seuss quotes?
paint something on canvas?
a blanket of some sort after all?
thank you cards?
knit or crochet a silly long red and white striped hat?

I dont have kids, and she is a first time mom.

How about a baby waschcloth and/or towel?

If the nursery is going to be decorated in Dr Seuss, how about decorative wall art featuring Dr. Seuss characters or quotes? You could make them out of canvas, mdf or wood and paint or make them out of fabric (quilted).
Generally, moms need practical stuff... diaper bags, onesies (especially for a summer baby), diapers, towels etc. You could add a Dr Seuss touch to anything practical and it will be appreciated Smiley

I found the thing I probably loved most was a towels with a corner turned into a hood like this

and you can personalise it anyway you want.

back to quilting...hurray and I dusted my art material Cheesy

If you can find some Dr. Suess fabric you could sew up some bibs, diaper covers/shorts, a shopping cart cover, or a travel fold-up changing mat. Good luck!

What about piecing together some characters out of felt for the wall?
