Look out, Portland. I'm so indie.

I bought this Ikea bookshelf because the price and size were right, but it needed something...

Then I remembered I have this obsession with Joel Dewberry's "Deer Valley" collection.

So I combined the two and "BAM!"

Suddenly that bookcase is full of awesome!

I used spray adhesive to glue the fabric to the backing before nailing it down to the back of the bookcase. The fabric is wrapped around the back and double sided tape holds the excess down so all the edges are clean and concealed. Very simple, quick and no sewing involved. I am SO in love with my new bookcase.

Thanks for looking! I hope it inspires you!  Cheesy

great fabric and decoration.

the last time i was there i stood in front of this exact bookcase for quite some time, wondering if this crappy plastic-thing on the backside could be fixed somehow
obviously it's possible  Grin (and now it's worth at five times as much  Wink )

That is gorgeous! I would be proud too! If my bookshelf (exactly like that actually) weren't piled almost to the ceiling with books, I would do the same thing!

Fantastic!

I used to have this book case and it was only ever "Blah"...to the extent that my boyfriend hated it and made me give it away.

I love this though.

that's so pretty!!

I need to get a new bookcase, and I think I'm going to be 'borrowing' this - if that's OK?

I made myself a new covered noticeboard - wonder if it I can get more matching paper for a set??

Holy Cow! I LOVE IT! This is my first day on this site. My mind is spinning with all of the cool things that I NEED to do. I have a sneaky suspicion that I will have insomnia tonight! Too much good stuff overload!
