The men in my life often get short changed when it comes to handmade gifts; I just can't come up with ideas as easily for them as I do for the ladies.  My dad is a nut for Nascar and has a whole room devoted to racing collectibles (my inheritance, oh joy) so for his birthday I stitched him as close to an inspirational quote as I could find from a Nascar driver.  Thus, the Dale Earnhardt hoop was born.

I found an image of The Intimidator's signature online and backstitched it with a single strand of floss.

Backstitched the quote in two strands.  Wabi-sabi, but I like it and I know my dad will.

I looked all over the internet for other Nascar-themed embroidery pieces and couldn't find one.  I guess our two worlds don't intersect much, who'd a thunk it?
