It's quite daunting posting on here with so many talented people - but I am very proud of this one and absolutely LOVE floating around in it.  Not sure exactly what the fabric is, I got it from my local market stall - fell in love with the colours, but it's quite floaty and light.

Note the look of intense concentration - I do smile most of the time!!!

and this one from the back

I'll try and get one of my friends to take a better pic so that you can see how it swishes.

C&C welcome - thanks for looking x

I love the bodice!  The sweetheart neckline is so adorable, and very flattering on you.  That fabric looks cute and comfy for summer.  It has been so hot this summer already.  It looks great on you.  You did a very good job.

I LOVE the bodice and the neckline, but it is the back that sets it apart!  Beautiful job!

I didn't use a pattern, just made it up based on what I wanted it to look like in my head.  From what I remember it's a series of rectangles mostly, with a trapezoid thrown in for the main body of it.  I found my old notes, and can tell you the bottom tier is 7 meters, next up 4 meters and next up 2.5 meters - all gathered and stitched on with some lace in between the two layers of fabric.  The bust section is another rectangle, but I tapered it down at the two outside edges so it would slip under my arms and then gathered the middle section straight up and down. Finally the sleeves are two further rectangles sewn onto the shoulder straps - but they don't close at the bottom, they're sort of open and flappy.

This is still one of my favourite dresses to wear - thank you x
