My nautical wedding needed a fancy pillow that didn't cost me 50 bucks. $15 bucks worth of material, a few cuss words, and a $5 pillow insert, and voila!

Pretty! I really like the beaded cording you used. The texture is a nice contrast to the rest of the pillow (and is that a sailing knot?).

Thanks so much. It's actually not a knot; I just started in the middle and wrapped it until it formed the pleating I wanted on the white stain.

It was pretty easy: just pinned the white fabric diagonally onto the blue fabric, sewed it inside out, flipped it right side out, and stuffed the pillow in. The white satin was a wide strip all the way down and was only sewn in at the corners, so that's when I tied the rope and pearl cording around the middle.

@davidsdesire: my wedding had a lot of little touches. I even made each of my bridesmaids a purse to match their different personalities. Forgot to take pics, so I'm waiting on them to send me some. I'll be happy to post some photos of my favorite details when I get copies!
