Hey everybody!

I just made this high waisted skirt yesterday, and I gotta say that i'm pretty happy with how it turned out!

Here's what I used:

Three 3XL t-shirts (I bought mine at Michaels)
Black thread
Wide non-rolling elastic waistband

Here's a picture of what I modeled my skirt after:

One of the HUGE 3XL shirts that was used for the skirt:

Tracing the lining of the skirt that the ruffles will be sewn onto:

One of the long strips used for the ruffles: (6inches wide)

Sewing the ruffles onto the skirt: (I just eyeballed the pleats!)

Attaching the casing for the waistband and then placing the elastic waistband inside: (the elastic waistband is 1.5inches wide)

And the finished product!

I'll post pics of myself wearing this skirt soon! The skirt sits right at my waist and looks great with a thick belt Smiley (Just like the pic!)

I hope you guys like it! I had alot of fun making it! Smiley

nice work!

I hate handing over money for what I could just as easily do myself, it makes me nervous.  ~Sylvia Plath

Wow! I can't wait to see the pics with you wearing it. It looks like it was pretty simple to do. I may copy!  Grin

It is better to have crafted and failed then never to have crafted at all.
Yes, I am stalking the Toys and Playthings board. Thanks for noticing!
I'm cheating on Craftster with Pinterest. It's ok though. There's overlap.

This looks awesome! I'll probably be making one for myself.

I reject your reality, and substitute my own.

that's awesome. it looks comfy and the pleats/ruffles will hide wrinkles well. (my pet peeve about skirts) great job!
