I forgot to take before photos of the t-shirts and the belt  Sad, but here is the finished product Smiley:

The front of the tote bag was a t-shirt I bought at Goodwill. The back of the bag is scrap fabric I had lying around. I used another piece of a t-shirt to make a pocket inside, and a child's belt for the strap.

I'm pretty proud of it. It's a gift for a cousin. Comments/Constructive Critiques welcome!
