vase glazed with Tenmoku

and last but not least, the giraffe cup! This piece is more decorative than functional since if you try to drink from it the horns will go into your eye.  Grin

LOL Love what you said about the giraffe cup! Cheesy These are awesome. I've always wanted to try pottery making but have never had the opportunity.

LOVE that giraffe cup!  And if you use a straw, no problem with the horns in your eyes.

Giraffes finally get their revenge!!  So cute!  It looks very real.

If you want your giraffe to be part of a herd of millions you could send your photo to this guy:

You would make him very happy I'm sure...

I love the one at the top.  Is it a tumble-up? What I mean is it a bottle with a cup for a cap?  It looks like I would have to pick it up and caress it if I was in the same room with it. Grin

To all past swap partners....If something I made you fell apart in some way, it would be helpful to me if you PMed me and told me about it.  Sometimes, I try new things, and if they fail, it helps me to know

I threw the mug part on the wheel, then sculpted the giraffe head and handle. First I used black low fire glaze to make the spots and glaze the eyes, then after it was fired in the low fire kiln I dipped it in tenmoku and fired it again to cone 6.
