Tabletop Zen Garden

I had a small wooden tray that i didn't know what to do with, so here's what I finally did!



I painted it with a crackle finish that i don't really like all that much.  I love the rest of it so much though that it's going to stay.  It turned out really cool, just not right for this project.  I did it using Elmer's glue.



I even made a tiny rake!! The teeth are from a bamboo skewer and the handle is a round chopstick!

I love it! I made one for a friend a few years ago as a birthday gift but I don't think she really got it. I love the alternative to doodles and the peaceful reflection it brings. In short...cool.

This is cute! I love how it has handles, because the trays that you can buy them on never do, and I always end up shifting the sand when I try to move the tray. What do you wish you had done on the wood instead?

I love it! Especially the rake. I've wanted to try making a zen garden before but I'm convinced it will end up as a cat toy.

I love it! I love little zen gardnes! I used to have a TINY one I got in one of those mini box  kits, I had so much fun making little designs. And nice job on the tiny rake! You super creative!

It turned out great!  What a nice repurpose to a tray!  It is calming to play with sand...your little rake is so cute...
