Well last June I decided I was going to teach myself to knit and I did after finding http://www.knittinghelp.com which was just a God Send to me the videos made me realize what I wasn't understanding. Well this June I decided to take on a huge project of making a blanket made up of squares of all the baseball teams in CA and Missouri. My problem I could find the Dodgers and the Angels in pattern form but, no other team that would be apart of the blanket. So, I decided to write my own pattern. After 7 long hours of graphing and writing out the pattern I began to knit my first square just to realize when I got to the end I wrote half of it backwards. After another 3 hours of trying to figure out where I went wrong I re-knit the pattern up and it came out. I am not happy with the size so, I think I am going to write a new pattern for all the teams now to make the blocks a bit bigger.

I used US  size 8 needles and some yucky yarn to check and see if the pattern had worked out so it isn't the prettiest square in the world but, I am so, proud of it since I wrote the pattern all on my own.

I think you could do it you just have to learn to do the stitch you don't know how to do lol. Also I think it would be beautiful if you did it like everything else you do.

Wow, you're just learning to knit and are already starting to design???  Shocked Good for you!

Personally I like the first chart better.  I would probably knit all the blue stitches and purl all the white ones.  But that's me.  Either way, keep up the good work!

Thanks I have written 25 of the 30 baseball team patterns and I re-wrote the KC pattern to make it bigger. I am knitting the squares slowly since I switched to longer needles and am having to get used to them. But I am so stoked about the blanket it isn't even funny. Also thank you for the compliment. I had thought about doing it the other way but, I just didn't in the end I might though when I am done with the blanket.

Your blanket is going to be great! I bet everytime you snuggle up with it, that you'll think of all the time and love that was spent knitting it  Cheesy
