This was completely inspired by Mamaphunk's post here

http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=339283.msg3928457#msg3928457

I completely fell in love with it and when I found this awesome 3x3 box at the dollar store I knew what I had to do with all my awesome whimsies that were hiding away when they should be displayed awesomely. Each square is 2in x 2in and it took me a while to fill it up with the perfect pieces. There are still a few small holes I'm waiting to find the perfect thing to put in it, but for the most part its finally done  Grin

Thanks so much for looking! I have another box that is similar to this one so I might have to make another!  Cheesy A big thanks to Mamaphunk for the inspiration!

luv it!  I have been pondering the same type of thing with those boxes...they seem to cry out for filling with whimsies.

Nice job and so fun to look at!!

I'm totally in love with this concept! What a great (and interesting) display. I love whimsies, but I never know what to do with them... this is a wonderful idea!! And your placement makes the whole thing look very artistic.

This is so neat and totally inspiring. It's kind of like a page out of a Where's Waldo book - so many little things to look at Smiley.

Where did you collect all of the whimsies? From swapping? I don't think I have enough whimsies in my life Smiley. Definitely need more whimsies.

The whimsies have mostly come from swapping, but I always keep my eye out for interesting bits when I go to the thrift store and whatnot. I have to admit I cheated a little bit - the octopus tentacles and the tiny mushrooms were made from poly clay but I like how they fit in anyway. Everything else were things I've collected over the last year or so.

LimeRiot - There's a whimsy swap being organized now; sign ups close tomorrow so if you have the time/energy you could get in still  Wink
