The cup thing behind the eye is the siphon.  It is where they pump water in to push it over their gills.  Also used as a sort of jet for movement, or when scared it's where the ink comes out of.  Wink 

Very cool project though.

I thought Kraken too when I was thinking about entering this contest, unfortunately life got in the way.  However I'm kinda glad it did because there is no way I could even compete with that kraken.  It's awesome!   Cheesy  And I love how it is more Pirates of the Caribbean kraken than Clash of the Titans.

all those suction cups..  Shocked Those alone were so much work! I love the octopus. It looks like it's going to crawl off it's rock. You really captured the motion and life.
