After making the deer pincushion for Always Inspired, I wanted to make one for myself.  I love combining my love of embroidery with hand sewing felt.
This lil gal was made in one day (now that I know what I am doing!). I made up the pattern as I went along.

The trunk has split stitch rings and bark lines, and French knot moss.  Everything is sewn together with a blanket stitch in most places. Body fur is accented with a few open chain stitch Vs. The tail is a fake fur scrap I had, with a trash bag twistie tie inserted for structure.

I will be sculpting a polymer clay acorn for a pin topper, but in the meantime he has red pearl head pins as "berries"

This is utterly irresistibly cute.

I like that it is a pin cushion but you don't have to put the pins into the squirrel itself.

Thanks everyone Smiley
She was a lot of fun to make.  I am already making plans for my 3rd pincushion, but I need to order a few more colors of felt.
