I did this piece for an embroidery swap. The theme for my partner was 'in an oriental garden' & I was immediately inspired by the movie "memoirs of a geisha". ...the book is fab too if you have time to read it.  Wink
I drew the geisha based on one of the characters in the movie during the scene where the Chairman, who was with 2 geisha girls, was buying the ice treat for Chiyo.
The other elements were just pulled from my imagination. I love the blossoming trees & wanted to do a lot of flowers too.
The thread was given to me by my partner & I really love the monochromatic look of the piece. It took a little over on skein of DMC to do it. I love playing with the line weight by using different #'s of strands in stitching. I can't even remember how long this took...but it took awhile. I'm a pretty slow stitcher.
C & C welcome.  Smiley

It turned out beautifully.  Your illustration is amazing, and your stitching is always perfect.

This is beautiful. I too really like the monochromatic theme here!

I'm being more and more inclined to try some embroidery after all of the awesome stuff I've seen here!

Sometimes I have to work straight through on something until it's done. You have no idea how many projects I haven't finished. I keep saying 'one day'... I'll get them done maybe.

Aw thanks! The stitches aren't always perfect....but I'm all smiles you think so!  Smiley
