My mom recently passed away and her number one passion in life was crocheting.  She lived in Phoenix and I live in Chicago.  We had to go there and clean out her apartment and I shipped back all of her yarn and completed projects, which was boxes and boxes and boxes.  Anyways, this is one of the many keepsakes that I will be making for all of my family members.  I made the first one for me because it took all of two minutes to make and now hangs from my rear-view mirror in my car. Smiley  It's just yarn wrapped around styrofoam balls.  Thanks for looking!

Evabeloved,

I'm sorry for your loss.  The mini-yarn balls are such a great idea to help keep the memory of your mother with you always.  She must have passed her creativity on to you!

Peace to you and your family,
Joanie

so sorry about your mother.  as a crafter I totally love anything from loved ones that is crafted and have finished several projects of loved ones and those are some of my favorite!

I made ornaments like this for last christmas....just a thought.  You could give them away as little gifts, use them as tags, and everytime they get them out family will think of you and your Mom.
