Last fall I got myself a mini-computer (A netbook.) because I have online as well as on campus classes, and a full sized laptop just gets a little bit too bulky (And easily noticeable for people to steal.).
Well, the Netbook is perfect, but in a backpack with college sized textbooks, it's practically getting beaten to death, so I made it a handy little cozy to prevent it from getting beaten up by the textbook bullies that I force it to associate with.
My backpack is black, so I decided to make the cozy black as well, but it was just getting boring, so that's where the ruffle (That you can't see that well, unfortunately.) and heart-shaped button came in!
(Pardon my knee and my very smudged computer - wow, I need to clean it once and a while.

Here's the quazi-pattern:
Chain a length that is equal to the depth of the Netbook.
Half double crochet in second chain from hook and all the way across.
Do not turn, instead start working stitches on underside of chain, working in rounds instead of rows. (I hope that made sense!) This will create a pocket effect.
Continue working rounds until it is the width of Netbook. Test to make sure - it has to stretch a little to properly fit.
After it is at the desired length, start working back and forth rows (Chain 1 each time you turn.) on half of the round to form a flap. (Again, I hope that made sense!)
For the ruffle: Chain 3 and single crochet in each stitch all the way across.
Sew on a button and enjoy!
