My boyfriend and I have always been into making sushi. We've done a few fancy-ish rolls before, but last time we made it we decided to get even more creative...

I cut the shapes out of the nori with nail scissors. I really want to try making awesome bento boxes, but I can never think of a good idea for one!

I don't think I would have the patience to cut out all those nori pieces. Looks good!

Haha those are ace! I'd love to try making a bento box at some point but I don't know if I have the patience!

That looks so yummy...I love the little salmon jack-o-lanterns!

Question - where do you get your fish for making sushi?  I love love love tuna sashimi, but I don't know what places sell sushi-quality fish.  I read somewhere that it is safest if frozen first...but really I'm a total sushi newbie and have no idea.

Inkie:
I usually just get my fish from the fish market of my local grocery store. Just ask them when it came in (make sure it was that day sometime), and give it a good sniff to make sure it doesn't smell, well, fishy. I've been making sushi with regular store-grade fish for years, and I have yet to get sick from it. Tongue

I'm not sure about the 'previously frozen' thing. I know my boyfriend refuses to use previously frozen fish, but I think that's just him being a purist.
