Leaving the world more beautiful than I found it.

Sorry for the photo-obesity.  Let me make it up to you with loveliness.

They started as white flats.

I took off the backs.

Then I dyed them.

Finally I sewed on ribbon straps.

Here they were on the big day!

Look out, Portland. I'm so indie.

I love the color! They must have been very comfortable on your big day. I can't imagine wearing uncomfortable shoes to your own wedding. How did you get the color done so nice and even?

I made a small weak batch of dye and I painted it on.  I did not wet the shoes down first.  And I made sure that the dye completely saturated every bit of the shoe.  Once they were both done I rinsed them in cool water until it ran clear.
It rained on the wedding day and they did not bleed at all.

Those look totally kick ass. Great job.

Stop being so damned positive. Staring at the sun only blinds some one. By only looking at the positive, you miss an entire beautiful world of shadows and colors. Don't be overly negative, be realistic. The world is so much more complex and beautiful that way.

They are gorgeous!  I like the original shoe but the finished product is so pretty.  I love the colour and they look really comfy.  Nice work and congratulations on the wedding!

So pretty!  Were they just tied at the back?  Must give this a go with slightly-too small shoes!

It's nice to be important, but more important to be nice.

Yep just tied! But I might add some elastic for convenience sake.
If you try I am available for questioning!

Cutting apart shoes can be a tinse complicated depending on how they were put together in the first place.
