hey there, this is my first post...but i'm totally blown away by all the different knitted projects i've seen!

anyhoo, i absolutely love the stitch n' bitch book...i've never knitted anything besides a scarf before i bought it, and i'm truly happy w/the stuff i'm able to make!

truthfully, i bought the book cause of the super cute kitty hats, and i took that as my first 'real' knitted project.  i made it sans the pom poms the first time, and i ended up giving it away to my best friend.  but i decided to make another one and i added some little flairs here and there to make it look cuter...

i added a cute little kitty fact to make it more 'anime-ish' i suppose.  i don't know how to do intarsia so i just weaved it in there.  my head is pretty small so i ditched the earflaps and stuff since it would just dwarf my face.  here's the different version of it.

i did the blanket stitch on the bottom of the hat to give it some contrast.  not to mention to have something to separate the color of the hat to the color of my hair.  added that on the ears as well.

close up of the face.

close up of the ear.  this version i added lace for my friend from a spin off from her name.

That is very very cool. I love the lace on the ear! If I saw that in a store, I'd buy it. Great job!  Cheesy
