I saw the neatest idea.  Plarn was used to make 2 1/2 ft by 6 ft mats for the homeless.  When I get enough bags, I am going to make some and drop off at the homeless shelter.

This is such a great idea!  I considered doing something similar for animal shelters in my area, but this is awesome, too.

I do this!  Grin I've completed a small one and am working on a full sized one. Several ladies back home heard what I was doing and they've been working on it too. Last time I checked, they've donated three or four to a local homeless shelter. I should make a post about it with tips and such.

I already save my bags but I normally just give them back to the store (they recycle them). Now I'm thinking of giving them to someone that knows how to crochet!

Better yet... I could learn to do it myself!

This is fantastic!  I love the idea of plarn.  I made some, and I've been stashing it for a while now waiting to figure out what to make with it.  Thank you so much for the info!

My friend just started a homeless ministry in Co! This is perfect for me to send her!
