i tried to make a hat for a friend of mine because we recently have been fighting and i wanted to make up for it wit a small token of affection

an he likes raves n shiny stuff and kittys so the reflective kitty eared fleece beanie/hat was born

it was born wrong.... the sewing machine just hated my guts.... normally it works fine its not even a year old and keeps stuffing up i think the tension has been fiddled with Cry
and i have a fat head - lol ie big head n its large n long on me so i doubt it will fit him.....Sad
anyway onto pics

comments and crit welcome... thanks for looking

love boo xoxox

Too bad the sizing didn't work out.  I really like the reflective ears - I bet horns would be super cute too.

Cool idea Smiley , here's a tutorial that might be helpful if you want to work on making it so it doesn't bunch at the top http://clearkid.deviantart.com/art/Fleece-Hat-Tutorial-68772035 It is also pretty easy to re-size as well to fit your friends head.

In my ever-so-humble opinion, it's not a fail.  I rather like the slouchy look, and I am a major fan of the reflective ears.  I hear ya on the fighting with the tension bit, though--I don't think my sewing machine's tension has *ever* worked properly without a half hour long epic battle, a ritual dance, and the sacrifice of a hundred ewes and a virgin to the sewing machine gods.  Ever.

lol the problem with tension in sewing machines in my house is because someone ie my brother has sexy fingers... ie: f**ks evrything he touches..... its the 3rd machine... n hes like 24 an still likes to jus fiddle with all the knobs n stuff on the sewing machine lol

This is a really great idea.  My husband is a bike commuter and I'm always looking for creative ways to keep people from running over him since he won't wear thr bright orange reflective vest thingie Smiley

Have you tried changing your needle recently?  I find that when my machine is acting screwy, sometimes a fresh needle cures it.
