I've been making small, hairclip-style kanzashi for a while now, but this week I decided to sit down and attempt some more challenging pieces...

This HUGE kiku kanzashi was a real labour of love for me. I think I spent about six hours straight on this one, from folding each individual petal from squares of vintage kimono silk, to actually getting the glue out and assembling this monster! xD  This kanzashi really is very large - easily a large palm-size, though it's not very heavy, and doesn't need any extra pins to hold it in a hairstyle ^^. Here you can see it modeled by my very patient little sister -

Some more of the kanzashi I whipped up -

So what do you think? I'd really love some feedback on these

It seems that different people have an idea of what I am, and what I should be. And then there's me.

HOLYCRAPAWESOME?! Seriously I don't know how you had the patience for that. I would have gotten frustrated quite easily when assembling it. Kudos to you! It's GORGEOUS! Cheesy

these are AMAZING.  i've seen some beautiful kanzashi before, but that ivory piece is the most gorgeous i have ever seen.  I seriously applaud the patience needed for a flower of that size and detail level. INCREDIBLE.

(ps, definitely hitting this rocks!)
