Did anyone get my Sean Connery reference (from the Hunt for Red October)?? I understand if you didn't - it's hard to type in that Russian/Scottish accent. Wink

So, I really wanted to crochet a submarine and my Dad suggested that I should do the Red October since we both really love that movie. The problem is ... no one would particularly recognize the finished submarine seeing as that ship is somewhat fictional.

I love the idea of cute and cartoony things, so I decided to try a cutesy version of a sub instead. And, really, what colour could there possibly be for a cartoony submarine other than yellow?

Without further chit chat, here's my sub:

As you can see, I opted for a propellor, as opposed to a magnetohydrodynamic 'caterpillar' drive.
I hope you like it!

Omigoodness... this is so cute. Actually, at first I thought it was the Beatles' yellow submarine, but it is adorable anyway. Smiley

My first thought was Beatles to.  It is very well done and cute!  I kind of think the scope thing looks like a penis though Shocked.

I also thought it was from the Beatles! But it's very very cute! Did you use a pattern?

Absolutely adorable, and, and always, crafted to perfection!  Will be buying the pattern...although maybe I should at least start on one of the rockets first....

Yellow Submarine was what I thought too, although I've never seen the movie. Also loved Hunt for Red October.
Anyways, very nice, bright, happy submarine. Good job!!!
