That is gorgeous....  I just keep looking at the slow, easy color changing nature of that yarn.  Reminds me of running water, really.

Thanks!  Was surprised when I logged onto this forum and saw my lil'snake thread revived once again.

That Noro yarn is the best.  Well worth the cost of the yarn.

For others who asked where I got the pattern... the Etsy shop I purchased this pattern from is no longer operating.  Sadly, I looked all over the internet for the seller or a similar pattern, and have been unsuccessful so far.  It's like she just dropped off the earth.  ANyhooo....the kind of crochet this is, I found out long after completing this scarf, is called "Bruges Lace" and you may be able to find instructions on making bruges lace somewhere.  It's mostly used to make lacy things like doilies, but y'all know how adaptable crochet is.

So, thanks for the nice words.  Craftster Rocks!

Dear all,

in Germany we call this way to crochet "Bruegger Haekelei". Bruegger is the German name of the town Bruges and Haekelei means crochet work.

On the German page creadoo I found a written instruction with a drawing (scroll a little bit down). Hope this will help you to figure out how to make this scarf. It is made of double crochet, half double crochet in the bows and chains.

Here you are: http://www.creadoo.com/Content7186.

That's it, Steffi.  This chart looks exactly like my pattern.  And the German need not put off those who aren't fluent in the language.  The chart is really all you need!

Thanks for posting, Steffi  Smiley Smiley Smiley Smiley Smiley

Nice!  This pattern really works well with the variegated colors.

Thank you, yzag.   Smiley Smiley Smiley  The actual pattern I used is not available, but if you look at reply #22 of this thread, you will see that Steffi was kind enough to post a similar pattern of Bruges Lace.  On the link, Scroll down to "band 5" and you will see a snake-like chart.  Noro Silk Garden is what I used on mine, although any yarn with long variegations would work.  I think my next one is going to be made from Mochi Mochi-the rainbowy yarn.   Enjoy!
