Here are some Days of the Week dish towels I made for my mom for Mother's Day.  We both grew up going to Camp Winnataska, a summer camp with lots of singing, and the idea came from a song that we sing there.

Both together

Monday's Close-up

Tuesday's Close-up

I got some great advice in this topic before I started.  The images are clip art that I printed out and transfered to flour sack cloth with dressmaker's transfer paper.  After I finished the emboidery I cut them out and machine sewed them (white around the edge, black machine feather stitch inside the blanket stitch) to some lovely towels from Martha's everyday collection.  They were a big hit with Mom.

FYI: Here's the song
MONDAY WASHDAY

Today is Monday,
Today is Monday.
Monday wash day.
All my loving brothers I wish the same to you.

Today is Tuesday,
Today is Tuesday.
Tuesday string beans, Monday wash day.
All my loving brothers I wish the same to you.

Today is Wednesday,
Today is Wednesday,
Wednesday roast beef, Tuesday string beans, Monday wash day.
All my loving brothers I wish to same to you.

Today is Thursday,
Today is Thursday,
Thursday soup, Wednesday roast beef, Tuesday string beans, Monday wash day.
All my loving brothers I wish to same to you.

Today is Friday,
Today is Friday,
Friday fish, Thursday soup, Wednesday roast beef, Tuesday string beans, Monday wash day.
All my loving brothers I wish to same to you.

Today is Saturday,
Today is Saturday,
Saturday payday, Friday fish, Thursday soup, Wednesday roast beef, Tuesday string beans,
Monday wash day.
All my loving brothers I wish to same to you.

Today is Sunday,
Today is Sunday,
Sunday church, Saturday payday, Friday fish, Thursday soup, Wednesday roast beef, Tuesday
string beans, Monday wash day.
All my loving brothers I wish to same to you.

Each of the cabins is a different day of the week and it turns lunch into a screaming match.  Ever so much fun, by the way.

Those look REALLY nice!  And I love that they are inspired by a song, which makes them mean even more personally for your mom!  Great gift!  Smiley

Not only is that the sweetest Mother's Day gift, but the towels are also done really well!  Nice work.  Your satin stitch looks great!

the laundry is the best and the colors and how you put them on the towels is great - I like it better than the standard tea towel set...

Thanks for all your kind words.  My mom loved them and can't wait for the whole set to be completed.  I'll be doing a few for each holiday, so I'll post them when they get finished.

Thanks again!!!
