Just catching up on the gallery!  Wow, some really fabulous, tiny embroidery projects!  I especially love the goldfish and the nautical compass!  Really great!

I'm starting to worry about my package to suinoko...darn international shipping...

Looking for a vintage magazine (1974 - 1978) that has a fabric nativity set w/ people and animals. An example: http://www.craftster.org/pictures/showphoto.php?photo=440861&ppuser=143144.

I came home from camping and found this on my porch. (inside porch, no worries!)  Eukarya sent me a Victorian steampunk lady on a handmade mini notebook, and she also included her original sketches for it!!  I love the gold and silver threads in here.  Using gold thread can sometimes be tricky so I'm amazed at the gold french knot buttons!  I'm so loving this, but now I have extreme swapper's anxiety, I hope mine I'm sending will be ok  Undecided  Here's the notebook and original sketch:
P.S:  hope this pic loads, photobucket widget wasn't loading for me, so I had to use Crafter's photo hosting

sorry for the darkness on this, but my flash was white washing the picture

Froggums,  Wink

There are tall ships all over the place that will take you for a sail - and you don't need to know a thing about sailing at all!  You just get to do all the fun stuff, and pull whatever rope they tell you to pull etc.  Or you don't have to do a thing, you just ride along and enjoy it all at your leisure. Great fun!

I was on the Lady Washington, part of the Historical Seaport (http://historicalseaport.org/web/index.html).  Just do a web search on tall ships and your area, and you should find one near by - there are lots on the east coast!

I've sailed on quite a few tallships now and I loved every second of every trip. I highly recommend it!  Even when I was crammed into the bunk area with 12 other snoring people.  Roll Eyes  Grin

LOVE the steampunk lady's hair, oh my goodness!

That steampunk lady is most awesome!  You may think the picture doesn't do her justice but she's still amazing!  Great work. And I love that it was your own drawing!  I got my pattern from Urban Threads...  I just love their stuff.  But I did that because I'm fairly new to embroidery.  I want to try make some of my own patterns eventually.  Cheesy

The metallic thread I used is actually regular floss with a strand of something my Mom used to use when she was doing a lot of cross stitch.  The name of it starts with a K and I can't remember it for the life of me.

Kreinik blending filament?

Ffroggums is a great name!

YES!!!  Kreinik blending filament.  That's the stuff I used to make the metallic floss.  Only after did I finish the whole thing did I find actual gold floss somewhere in our crafty space.  Roll Eyes

I received a beautiful embroidered pendant from ollieorange!

I guess she saw that I love steampunk stuff so she embroidered it with teeny gears! And used metallic thread of all things...amazing. I love it, and I love the background fabric too. It looks like wood grain!

Thanks so much ollieorange! Your package is going to be shipped on Monday Smiley
