The completed bag!!!!

The back... I didn't want the buttons to rub.

I've been saving this button for quite a while. It's my favorite. Now the piggy has a home.
What do you think?

I bought this bag at Walmart on clearance (couldn't pas it up). I thought it would make a great reusable shopping bag. The only problem is that I think it's boring and kinda ugly! What can I do to make it stand out? It's like plastic woven like... I dunno. Any ideas on how to personalize this bag?

maybe you could weave a design into it with contrasting ribbon

Are you a button person?  You could do some really cool things with buttons, I think.  I think it'd look cool with small buttons in some sort of pattern on some of the little 'squares' that the woven design makes.

Or bows.  You could do one big one or a couple little ones.

weave different strings/ribbons in the weave, put buttons/pins on it. or make those cute fabric flowers that are so popular
..and add new handles those are tacky

On the handles, my sister just bought one of those bags, and her handles broke like 2 days in.  So that would be a great place to jazz it up, and reinforce the handles.

Are you a knitter or a cross-stitcher?  As a quilter all those little squares scream at me to be painted in a pattern of something...maybe lettering using some funky font or your favorite 64 bit video game icon?
