Hi!

A couple of years ago I bought an cross-stitch kit, but for some reason I have ended up running out of one of the colours of thread Sad I don't think I wasted any, and I'm pretty sure I worked out the colours right, so I don't really know what happened there, I guess they just didn't give enough?!

Anyway, I'm desperate to buy some more thread to match, so I can complete the project. Does anyone know where I could get some extra thread from? The problem is, it doesn't really say anywhere what brand the thread is. The kit is made by Design Works Crafts, but I can't seem to find anywhere online that they sell thread on its own.

In case anyone knows where to look, the colour I need is 318 'grey'. If I can't find where to buy it I guess I'll just have to go into a shop and try to find one that looks similar, but I'd rather not have to do that in case it doesn't look right Sad

Anyway, any advice is much appreciated, thanks!
Becca

I looked at DMC thread and 318 IS a grey called "Light Steel Grey.". You can buy DMC thread in most craft/fabric stores such as Michael's, JoAnn's, Hancock's, etc. It usually costs less than 50 cents.
I would take a small piece with you and it should be simple to make sure they  match.

Does the packaging or chart have any contact info for the company?
Many companies will include a phone number, and have something in the instructions about sending you (free) floss if you run out.  Smiley

If this is the right Design Works Crafts : http://www.designworkscrafts.com/
Go right to their contact page : http://www.designworkscrafts.com/feedback.htm and send them an email about the color you need.  The feedback page even notates, "If you are contacting us about a shortage, or need additional materials, please be sure to tell us as best as possible what materials you need in the COMMENTS box."

Hopefully that is the right company and you'll soon have more floss to finish your project!

Awesome!  Grin
Good luck with your stitching, and don't forget to post it in the finished projects section when you finish.
