Food coloring will only stain cotton, it won't dye it.  You need protein based fibers, like wool and other animal fibers, to take food coloring well.  Otherwise it'll just rinse out in the wash.  On the other hand, the tie dye kits they sell are not good for protein fibers, but are fabulous for cotton!

I barely got any crafting done this weekend since my little one, who was sick last week and got better, came back down with fever and stuff Saturday afternoon.  I even had a babysitter lined up for Sunday so I could finally have a crafting day all to myself.... anywho...we did get to go to a craft fair in Berea Saturday morning and there was some AWESOME tie dyed stuff.  Granted they wanted 30.00 for a broomstick skirt, which I thought was a bit high, but they had trees and rainbows on them, which I thought was reallllly cool.  I'm with margiej on thinking tie dying could be addicting, but the dyes at Walmart are all 4.00 a piece and thats a single use.  Is there a cheaper method??

(squeezing in here our of nowhere lolol) we were there Sunday too!!  I wonder if we crossed paths? Loved those tie dyed skirts too, great details Cheesy

note to self do not try to craft, especially when it involves the oven, at 11pm.

Good Morning, sounds like you all are doing great!  I just wanted to gr-r-r myself a little.  You know I always say there is a right way, a wrong way and a Margie way, well when you forget to do the interfacing in a bag, unstitch it before trying to iron it on, even though a pocket will hold it in place permanently.  It is REALLY hard to do it when it is stitched up, although I know it CAN be done!  LOL!  I get so impatient sometimes. I need to get out more, see people.......What is that saying, crafting cures insanity?   Really??? Undecided Undecided
