Welcome bittenbefore,

Shelton is very pretty, isn't it?  Don't the deer remind you of kangaroos? They graze on the side of the road, are cool to look at and are huge pests to farmers and gardeners.

Your best bet for a craft store is in Orange, the AC Moore.  There is also a Christmas Tree shop next door that sells tons of stuff, cheap. It's one of those hit or miss kind of stores that sells everything, but you can't count on it having what you need at any given time.

Also look at Bloodroot in Bridgeport. It is a woman's food cooperative run by a weaver.  It is a very pleasant place to spend tme and have a meal.  There are books on textile arts in the store part, and some weaving supplies.  Somewhere on Craftster I read they have a knitting group, too.

I'm in lower Fairfield County which is kinda far from you, but good luck to you.

Hi,

I'm from West Hartford- Im not too sure where that is in relation to Shelton.

My favorite fabric store ON EARTH is Affordable Fabrics in Rocky Hill, on the Silas Deane Highway (sorry, dont know what #). It is not a chain, which is nice, and almost all of the fabric is $2 a yard!!!!!!!!

Even if its a bit of a drive, you should check it out.

PM me if you have ant CT questions!

Hi, I'm in Wallingford, but lived in West Haven all my life.  Shelton is pretty cool. I agree a/b AC Moore in Orange. They are builing a Joann ETC (a Joann fabrics but supersized) in Milford, across from the CT Post Mall.  I work at a Joann's, thats how i know..lol.  I haven't gone to any SNB type thing yet around here, but I'd be down for one

FYI, AC Moore, Michaels & Joann all honor each other's coupons.
