I don't usually like shorts, but these are great! I love all of the wonderful details and they are so well tailored. Great job. Have fun wearing them this summer!

Eek!  I just spent 35 on shorts in this style but not even as nice.

I wish I could sew up something like this.  Great job.

Wow! I think these ended up costing me about $10 total with the buttons and everything.

Since i've started cycling i have deemd my legs 'acceptable in shorts' so am looking everywhere fo the right styles. I never thought of high wasited, which is odd since my favourite trousers are high waist. Thanks for the inspiration to give something similar a go.

The detailing is great. I like the use of the invisable zip in the side seam, it stops the wasit being too bulky and allows the focus to be on the cut, stitching and of course your legs!

Nope. Just used a standard pants block. Lots of fabric stores sell the basic blocks around here. I'm sure you can find one. Or you could probably modify a pair of boxers or something. Its just a shorts pattern extended at the top and darted in and instead of a fly you just sew up the front and back and have a side zipper.
