this is a thank-you gift i made for some friends. i wanted to make another one like the blue and white one i did for my parents a few years ago, but lost the pattern. so i sort of winged it. i think it came out pretty well.  Smiley

Pattern
i used caron simply soft yarn in dark green, light green, and cream (i don't remember the official names of the colors). i think i chained about 260 to begin with, and that was the length, not the width, of the afghan. sorry if the pattern's a little confusing, i don't write out patterns very often so i'm not that good at it yet.

dark green: dc for 6 rows
light green: sc for 1 row, popcorn stitch for 2 rows, sc for 1 row
dark green: dc for 6 rows
cream: sc for 1 row, fan stitch for 3 rows, sc for 1 row

repeat until afghan is desired size. i did 5 repetitions of the "dark green, light green, dark green, cream" sequence, then ended with dark green, light green, dark green.

for border, sc in cream all around, then fan stitch all around, then sc again all around.

popcorn stitch:
make 5 hdc in one stitch. take hook out of loop. insert hook into the first of the 5 hdc, reinsert it into the loop of your last hdc (where you took it out), draw that loop through the loop on your hook. chain one. skip a stitch, then do another popcorn stitch into the next stitch.

fan stitch:
make 5 hdc in one stitch. skip 4 stitches, make 5 hdc into 5th stitch. skip 4 stitches, repeat.

I love those colors together!  The cream really helps define the shape and pattern of the afghan.  Great job.

Fantastic Job "winging" it! You may just need to share the pattern because I am in love with it.

I love the colors and I really love the combination of textures you used! I'd be interested in the pattern if you decide to share it...  Smiley
