Acrylic (usually some sort of metallic) in many MANY layers in those clear glass ornaments from the craft stores:




These take a looong time to get one finished, because I have to let the paint dry between layers.  No brushes involved.

I love these. The layered effect is really nice.  I would like to try something similar.  Do you mind saying what brand(s) and the name of the colors you used. The spray bottle idea is a good one also.
