Sometimes you just need a really simple, satisfying project.  This was my TV knitting for about a week.  A pair of toe-up socks in plain stockinette with a 2x2 rib cuff.

Pardon the bit of fluff on the left leg.  idk what that is.  And those crazy carpets are not my own.  I work at a hotel, and that's the "modern" carpet they decided to lay.

They are so comfortable.  I can't wait 'til I make enough pairs of socks that I can wear handknit every day.

Yes, I wish I could knit fast enough to have a pair of handknit socks to wear everyday.  Excellent work! It is great to have a yarn that does the work for you!

Craftster has a facebook page, and I didn't know about it!?  *rushes off to facebook to join*  Thanks for featuring me!

These socks are awesome!  What pattern did you use?  (Also, love your shoes!)

I didn't really use a pattern.  I made them toe-up using a wrap and turn toe and an afterthought heel, so the striping wouldn't be messed up.  I wish I had done a different heel, cuz there's a weird line on the bottom of the foot, but no one sees that, so whatever.
And I love these shoes too!  When I saw the buttons, I had to get them.  I found them at Ross, of all places!

Whoops, missed you on my last post.   Thanks!  I'm such a sucker for self-striping yarns with long repeats.

This is my 6th pair of socks.  I've used the same toe for all of them, so I've got it pretty well memorized now.  I think I may have to experiment and try a cuff-down sock soon!

PS- The yarn is Paton's Kroy FX.  I love that stuff.  Stripey as all getout, and it's 25% nylon, so less darning!

those look wonderful!

i have started my first sock pattern, hee hee, and re-started and re-started and ripped out about 15 times.  i found a sock pattern a fellow from Ireland uploaded to a site.  purchased Bernat roving at Michael's on sale.  it has such a marvelous feel and i wanted socks to be thicker for my Hubby.

The right foot has to be adjusted because of swelling and surgeries he has had because of polio making his toes fused and feet wider in spots.  I also wanted to just make footlet like socks he can wear as bedridden.

anyway, i have actually had fun reworking to make what i want.  i was actually fascinated by the "turning the heel".  so proud i could even do it and redo it and redo it.  i am not well versed in knitting because i never had much luck manuevering those two long needles.  ended up holding one between my knees of all things.

self-taught, being a lefty.

i have purchased lots of crochet threads and yarns throughout the years and crocheted many doilies and things.  have always liked short projects where i would see very fast results.  patience is not one of my virtues.   Roll Eyes

now i am using double-point needles and knitting around and around and not having to sew seams.

my next project will be toe up socks.  you have encouraged me.  THANK YOU!

Hey, I'm a self-taught leftie too!  Good luck on your socks.  I can't wait to see the finished product!

Great socks!  I've been in search of a really simple sock pattern for a while!  I'm not quite ready to create my own, it'll actually be my first pair of socks!

Thank so much for sharing these!
Inspiring :-)
