After an official "nudge, nugde" from my amazing organizer in the recipe swap, pinkleo, I've decided to post the recipe for the Banana Bars that cause stampede's in my neighborhood.  I hope you all enjoy them as much as my family, friends and neighbors do.

Banana Bars

cup butter            2 bananas, mashed
1 cup sugar            2 cups flour
2 eggs               1 teaspoon baking soda
cup buttermilk                       teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla

Preheat oven to 350.
Cream all together.
Spray jelly roll pan with nonstick cooking spray.
Bake 20 25 minutes.

Cream Cheese Frosting:
1 cup butter (softened)         1 teaspoon vanilla
1 bar cream cheese (softened)      1 box (1 pound) powdered sugar

Cream everything together & frost.

Do you have to have a spring roll pan to make these?

I've been drooling over these bars ever since I saw pinkleo's picture in the Recipe Swap! Super tempting! Cheesy

You could use a different size.  My Mom made them in a 9x13" pan (for she doesn't have a jelly roll pan); she just had to bake them for a bit longer.  (go with the toothpick comes out clean method)

I've always made these in a jelly roll pan (cookie sheet with sides), but I'm going to try pinkleo's 9x13.  If you try the spring roll pan let us know how it works.

Ohhh!  Those look good!  And I happen to have all the ingredients on hand, too.  I've been meaning to bake some banana bread but I might just have to try out that banana cake.  Thanks!

These sound delicious! I have some bananas chillin' in the freezer, so I think I need to make some. Just need to hit the store for some dairy products Wink
