***CandyLand-- Comes to Life***

I'm not quite complete in my work out there in the garden. I figure four more years (or thereabouts). When it's finished I'm hoping each of the little mini-garden's that represent the CandyLand theme (Hearts, Gingerbread, Peppermint, Chocolate, etc) will have something in them that stimulates all five senses. Sight, Sound, Taste, Smell, Touch. 

The sight part was easy. Just a lot of cool flowers and some arts and crafts. I've been picking those up at a local thrift store or five. I'd like to get a kindergarten involved to help make some as well.

Slowly, slowly I've been picking out things that make a unique sound for each of the gardens.

Smell should come naturally but I have been trying to find things (in conjunction with the taste part) that show off each garden's theme -squishing some of the plants is okay in this garden. I even have particular areas where you're supposed to step so that the aroma wafts up.

Taste has been fun! Lemon Thyme, Lemon Balm. Yep, I have a whole chocolate theme going on in the water area that the bridge goes over. Right now the chocolate mint is plentiful. I've been keeping a extra-large container near the front because so many neighbors and friends want to take it home with them.

Touch is harder, hopefully more ideas will come with time. At this point I'm just hoping that it "touches the heart" of the visitor.

~ WOW!!! That is just amazing. That would have taken so much effort and so much of your time!! But i have to hand it to you, cause it does look like a majikal playground!! When can i come over and play a game with you?? Have you got a dice? ^_^

A fabulous neighbor came by today (it was sunny!) and took a few new snaps.'
