I made some mega easy/super tasty soup this morning...it's almost gone already.

Here's my recipe...if you can even call it that...

Soak a bag of yellow split peas overnight

The next morning...

Chop up some onions (I used 2 smallish red ones) and fry them in the bottom of the pot until they're almost see through.

Fill the pot up with water, throw in a ham haugh, the split peas and boil for a few hours (I went to the gym and left my bf to keep an eye on it).

Once it's all nice and soupy lookin', pull the meat from the bone and throw it back in the pot.

I put in 2 veg stock cubes but I'm not sure it'd even need it.

And that's pretty much it...the easiest soup I've made in my life and I never really went by a recipe to begin with...which is why mine is so rubbish.   Grin

I make a similar soup in the cooler months. YUM!

Is there a cooking difference between yellow and brown lentils? I've only ever cooked with brown. Smiley
