So, my sister is in the downy dumps. A lot of crazy things have happened in the past 4 months in her life, so I made her this clutchy-thingy.  I'm going to mail it out today and hope it gets there before I go visit.  It turned out way smaller then I thought it would... but eh, maybe she can put something in it?

Comments and critique welcome.. This is my first weaving project worth posting (there's another one but oooh... she's ugly...), and i know it's wonky in a few places, but eh... I'm learning!  Also, this has made my want for a real loom stronger...

This is like giving your sister a piece of artwork!

Not only is the thought wonderful, but I love the textures and the movement of the weave!  Pretty nice for your first finished piece!

Thanks for the links and the inspiration!

What sucks is that someone here was giving away a loom, the real kind, and I don't have anywhere to put it.

Belladune, I think this is very lovely. At first, I thought it was felted

It's gorgeous! I love the colours, very clouds-at-sunset-over-the-ocean-y. I'm sure your sis will love it Cheesy

Awesome!

That is a great first piece. You will never have to apologize for that one!

Thanks for showing an old guy how good a simple idea can turn out.

Have a joyful day!

Thank you!!  I still really really want a loom though!!  But this was simple and fairly easy and obviously turned out something wonderful.  Sister still hasn't called to say it's gotten to her though.....
