OK so this is my first craftster challenge and I absolutely fell in love!  When I saw the challenge, I new immediately what I wanted to do.  I decided to take my love for Scrabble as well as my obsession with fun purses and combine them....so here is what I came up with.

I started with a Scrabble game that I bought at a tag sale for $1.00.  It has been sitting in my trunk for ever and I intended to use it for the letters.  (I will be doing future craft projects out of those so that is why I only used 3 for this project)

I decided to create a purse using the Scrabble board.  I stuck to a traditional style purse to keep the integrity of the game board.  I used pieces of the box to create the sides, and base of the bag.  I added a piece of coordinating fabric on the inside as well as ribbon on the edges to make it look more finished. The letter holders were used as the handles of the purse and I just attached them to some wire.  One of my favorite details on the bag is the "monogrammed" hang tag with my initials.  I simply just glued the tiles to a ribbon and punched a whole in it for the key ring!  (Definitely something I will be creating more of!!!)

When I finished making the purse, I really felt that I needed something else to go with it, and, I couldn't just waste the rest of the box.  So, I made a wallet from the lid of the box, some packing tape, and two pieces of Velcro.  The wallet needed something so I added a flower (great suggestion from one of my students!) that I made from the leftover base of the box and secured with a brad.

This challenge was so much fun and I really enjoyed doing it!

So cute! Love it. I really like how you were really having fun with the letters labeling all the pictures and your craftster game. But seriously, it has to be one of the cutest game board purses (and wallet) I've seen.

So cute! I have so many game boards I've gotten at thrift stores just to make purses out of that are just stacked in my closet because I have no idea how to make it work!
You did a great job!

I love personal swaps, I currently need art (paintings or something to hang on a wall) but I'd be up for anything.

I love how you used the letters in the game to label your photos Smiley

This is a great purse.  My favourite part is the tile holders as handles.  great work.

When I read the title, my first though was *this is gonna be bulky... Roll Eyes and probably heavy too* but it's not at all!!! I love how you focused on using the box instead of the tiles and of course, the handles!

I know others have said it, by what a great idea to label your pics with scrabble words!
