camelama, that's so cute. I'm glad she was nice to the little whale. My cat would not have been so kind.

hey all! I received an AMAZING gift from StarfishSea yesterday. We spent the day getting to know each other and she helped me around the house this morning. I would like you all to meet, Ella the Whale!

Ella and I started the day by working my garden. It was so nice outside this morning. Although she had a little trouble when I asked her to hoe the garden.

We soon found out hard work is not for a delicate creature of the sea. I later found her skipping out on work and hiding among the squash!

By far I think her favorite place is in the pumpkin patch! (that's mine too!!)

Like most whales, she eats a lot!! She's already ate half my apple tree!!!

And she's making plans for the harvest from today! (*sigh* to be a mother of a whale!)

All in all, we had a great first day! And she's already adapting to life in Virginia!!

THANKS SO MUCH STARFISHSEA!!!
Ella and I were meant to be! You've rocked my swap socks off!

Ella looks like a wonderful whale, and I love her with the baby pumpkin.  And the coffee cups!

The whales in here are totally wonderful! I almost wish that's what I'd asked for. Almost Cheesy.
My lovely partner (who sent me the bendy limbed felt octopus sweety) Iota1617 received the hand carved stamp I made for her but she's mid-move right now so I'm going to save her the hassle and post a pic.
This thing gave me a LOT of trouble if you'll recall but it wasn't the carving that was problematic, that actually went pretty well. It was trying out this new stamp mounting technique I read about online. Never used so much glue in my life, I tells ya! And it had to be weighted for days until it dried too. I was very nervous it wouldn't make it, believe you me! But finally, all seemed good to go so here it is!

Baleen whales were the sea creature of choice, what an interesting pick! I found this adorable image online and just couldn't resist it.

It's quite large, a good size for cards or using a faded ink for the background on note paper. Or gift wrap! I did try to make something somewhat usful...

Here's the mount, it's lego! Blocks glued to sheet blocks glued to sheet foam glued to the stamp. Probably the last time I try this...

Thank you! crafylittlemonkey!

I love my stamp and I had not thought about using it for wrapping paper until I read your post with the photos.  I like that idea so much it blew my mind a little bit.  I am for SURE going to do that!

That's great! It's so big that it would make a neat focus on parcels I think. One of these days I'll carve some stamps for myself Tongue. Much less paper waste than using stickers (even though the kids and I love stickers!) Cheesy.

My OTSC from saltandpepper...a jewelry set that's blue and features one of my favourite sea creatures, the seahorse:

It was really hard to get a clear shot of the beads- they're translucent blue with flecks of gold, silver and red in them.  The seahorse is the silver charm dangling in the middle of the pendant.

Thanks so much, saltandpepper!  I hope you'll like what I sent to you too Smiley
