luv2knit that is beautiful!! I have a pattern/design for a "needle udder" in a knitting book of mine. The Cool Girl's Guide to Knitting.

I'm thinking the double layer idea is wonderful. I'd like to maybe put a zipper pouch in the fold over flap to keep sewing-up needles in. I like to keep everything together and I know how easy it is to misplace sewing needles.

I realized, unfortunately, when I gave my sewing basket to my mom that I gave her all of my zippers as well. Oh well, the case came out lovely! If you want to see more pictures they are in my blog. Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh h...I love love love all these needle cases!!!

I am not a sewer.  I tried quilting a couple of years ago and just never got the hang of it (even after taking classes).  My problem is my sewing machine tension.  I have no idea how it works and I either end up breaking my thread (constantly) or I get loopies on the bottom or I get skipped stitches.  It is an absolute nightmare for me.

I sucked it up, and tried to sew the needle case, but it was an absolute failure!!!  I am still recovering from my attempt.

I think I'll stick with knitting and sell my sewing machine at our next garage sale 

I'll have to con/bribe one of my friends to sew this for me, in the meantime, my stupid attempt to do it myself sits in my garbage can *sigh*.

To all of you sewers out there, I'm totally jealous!

I did it! I did it!  I am the master of my sewing machine!

It was a rainy morning yesterday, so I decided to give it one more try, and here is the result:





The case is really orangey, the photos make it look more red than it actually is.

I'm trilled!
