I made these for a swap and just loved them so much I thought I'd share how I made them
I found some old spoons at a swap meet (can also be found in second hand stores, they sell them for almost nothing!) and turned them into cute little ladybugs:

You could probably paint first and bend second, but this is how I did it:
1. Clean spoons and allow to dry
2. Bend handle forwards, toward the bowl side of the spoon. I used the edge of a table to start the bend, pushed them closer with my awesome strength, then set the handle on the top of the table and pushed down on the spoon to finish the bend. For the longest finished spoon I had to break out the pliers
3. Rest hands
4. Paint the back of the spoon 'bowl' with one coat of red acrylic paint. I stopped after one coat cause I liked how the spots from the spoon were showing through, but you could add more coats if you want an even toned red
5. Allow paint to dry. They were ok free standing but I didn't want to risk bumping the table and knocking them over so I propped them up a little while drying.
6. Paint a black line down the 'back' of your ladybug
7. Paint around the curve at the tip of the spoon to form the ladybugs head
8. Paint some black spots
9. Allow to dry
10. Hang them up or set them out to display!
I imagine this could be a fun summer craft to make with your little ones as well, if you do the bending I'm sure kids would love to paint their own bugs. If anyone makes these I'd love to see them! I think you could make a bunch of different bugs/designs with these
