Etsy is encouraging peeps around the world to run simultaneous ‘Etsy Craft Parties” on Friday June 18 – in celebration of Etsy’s birthday!  And guess what, there’s a Melbourne event registered here and I’m putting the word out to you in the hopes that you might want to join in on the crafty fun.  There’s lots more info and FAQ’s here http://www.etsy.com/storque/article/8083

Some of you might already belong to Brown Owls and other crafty meet-ups, but I’m hoping that we can make this Etsy Craft Party meet-up a huge one and bring the greater Melbourne crafty folk together for lots of craft goodness for this one special night.  Plus if we are in the top 50 registered groups (globally) we will get lots of craft goodies from Etsy and sponsors.  At the moment we're within the top 50... I just want us to keep that place until Tuesday of next week.

The lovely ladies of Thread Den in Fitzroy have graciously agreed to host us in their fabulous venue on the night.

I’m working through what we’re all going to be doing on the night, but I can promise that there will be lots of craft goodness such as crochet, embroidery, knitting etc – small tasks which can be at least started on the night and finished on the night or at home.  I think we’re going to have a few newbie crafters, so this would be a very warm welcome to the craft community for some.

If you suggestions on where we can get supplies for the night, would like to volunteer to teach others a craft on the night or anything else, I’d love to hear from you!  If you’ve already registered, I look forward to seeing you on the night.

Let’s spread the word.
