My mom and I have been toiling away for the past week trying to get this started and finished for my daughter's upcoming third birthday. I did all sorts of hand-embroidered embellishments on it. I kept in the gatherings for where the dresses flare out, and ruffles on dresses, traced her hand and embroidered her age on it...we are just so proud!!!!! I'm so happy to have done something like this for her. It fits a twin bed.

AWESOME!!! I love how you kept the gathers and ruffles on it and her hand print. Beautiful work!

Thank you so much! I know it's nothing crazy technical and there are some little alignment problems, but I love it, and I hope that she feels like it's being wrapped in a big hug!!!

How wonderful. I just love the idea. That is a great use of all the baby clothes they out grow.  Go great.

Thanks so much, all! We're so happy with it! I hope it lasts a long time so that she can pass it down to her daughter!

This is awesome! I made one for my daughter two years ago - but I made crazy quilt squares (that were 11x11), and I used all the baby clothes I had that were non-heirloom. She loved it, and it was nice to be able to use all her clothes so they weren't wasted. I have to say, I like the way yours turned out better than the one I made - the small squares look better, and it must have been easier than doing the sashing in between.

Thanks! And...um...sashing? Is that the joining of the pieces? I know nothing about quilting lol. I just kept joining squares and rectangles blindly...
