I like buying clearance fabrics and just trying out stuff with them. This light blue striped cotton fabric was 1/m, so I bought tons of it  Grin. It is a heavier weight than I usually like for clothing, so I thought I'd make a skirt with it.
I just cut off a big rectangle and played around with different pleating methods and the final result is this:

I'm really happy with how it turned out, it fits me really well  Smiley

I sew on a vintage treadle that has no buttonhole feature, so I do my buttonholes by hand with embroidery floss:

With practice they actually look pretty nice and are not as tedious to make as I thought they would be. Cheesy

Thanks for looking Smiley

That's a really terrific skirt! At first I thought the first picture was from a magazine or something, it all looks so "professional" haha Grin - and you're right, the skirt is a perfect fit! Very nice (the buttonholes are also impeccable - I can't believe you did them by hand!)

Very impressive! Your buttonholes are gorgeous, by the way Cheesy And I'm uber-jealous that you have a treadle machine Tongue

Thanks so much everyone!!!

Is it a wrap skirt?
Hm, I don't exactly know what a wrap skirt is. It's basically just one rectangle sewn together at the side, pleated and closes with 3 buttons on that side...I was too lazy to even make it 2 pieces of fabric, which would have been neater.

Very nice (the buttonholes are also impeccable - I can't believe you did them by hand!)
I've been doing quite a lot of buttonholes lately and it's incredible how soon they start to look nice! It's really a practice thing! After a couple of them it's not hard at all to get them neat looking, especially with embroidery thread, because it is a bit thicker. It's also nice work to do while watching a DVD in the evening  Grin

And I'm uber-jealous that you have a treadle machine
I got my grandmas treadle a couple of months ago and it's been my only machine since. I can really recommend getting one if you can, I love love love sewing on it!! I blogged about it with pictures too, if you want to see it: http://tidytipsy.wordpress.com/2009/12/30/isnt-she-a-beauty/
