I bought a little chess set for the kids ages ago and after a loss of interest and a few moves across country we lost a lot of the pieces. But being the die-hard Crafter that I am I held on to it knowing that one day I would give it a makeover. Oh and I have a ton of scrabble pieces too.... I am a Craft Pack Rat.
So here it is the fantastic new jewelry holder.

That's awesome! I like that you were able to make something out of it even with several pieces missing, b/c we all know how game pieces always get lost.

That's really cool. I never would have thought to make something like that with the remaining pieces, but now that I see it it's totally ingenious. Great job!

I love how manly this is! My male family members might really like something like this to hang belts/ties on, not just jewelry. Especially if I used a Star Wars chess set or something....lol!! Thanks for the inspiration, awesome job!

Very nice.  I can see doing something like this as a gift. jewelry, ties, belts, even kid's coats if the pieces are well attached.

Thanks!
I attached the pieces by placing a nail and filling each piece(they were hollow) with "Mighty Putty". I think the wall will collapse before those pieces fall off!

How clever! I'm like you -- I save everything for that "someday" project!
