My dad really has one main hobby, and that's brewing his own beer. Our basement is like a little laboratory, with tubs and kegs and containers, fermenting hops and airline tubing. I really want to make him something, but I have no idea what! Sad Anyone have any ideas that are brewing or beer related? Cheesy

I imagine brewing (or having a bar in general) requires lots of towels. You could embroider some towels for him, or make him coasters or beer glasses with "Dad's Pub" on them...

omg. my dad's exactly the same. last year for fathers day I bought clear glass beer steins and etched on them with that glass etching cream. I used the clear contact book cover plastic stuff, and it was a pain. I saw someone on here using fabric paint for the outline, and theirs came out great! you could also embroider on towels, or knit/crochet coasters, or make like wine glass charms, only bigger to go over the top of a beer bottle. you could also fabric paint something on a shirt for him, a few years ago I did a "Lord of the Beer" shirt for my dad, since he likes the Lord of the Rings movies. if you're looking for something less handmade, you could get him a subscription to a brewing magazine. or if you have a brewery near you, you could always take him on a tour and tasting....

hope these ideas help!!

This describes my hubby, so I have a few ideas!

If he has his own kegerator, you can get a very cheap, small black tap handle and then put sculpey over it in the shape of something related to the name of his "brewery" or beer names.

I posted here on craftster a freezer-paper stencil I did of a hops flower on a t-shirt.  I included the pdf of the stencil, so you could download it and use it.

You could make a beer journal.  What he drank, what he thought of it, where it's from.  This is REALLY useful if you go to a microbrewery tasting and drink too many to remember what you had.

A gift certificate to the local homebrewing store for supplies.

Beer cap magnets for the fridge.

And, just as an idea, the "mantra" of a homebrewer:  "Relax, Don't Worry, Have a Homebrew."

Let me know if this helps!
