I recently started going to a pottery class. I am absolutely loving it. I've had 6 2 hour sessions and finally I have something to post.

Art Gecko

This is a stoneware Slab Vase, decorated using iron oxide and transparent glaze, also a little bit of coloured glaze for the gecko and the lady bird.

Hopefully I'll have more finished items soon, such as my zombie bear mug, inspired by one I saw on etsy and my Dali melting clock bowl both made using coils.

A very cool vase and I can't wait to see your Dali melting clock bowl :-)

Yes, you have to wait a long time to finally get the results of your pottery class! It's one of the hardest things about it, having to wait. As Tom Petty said.....

Tomorrow is my last class for this term....I'm sad  Cry
Definitely signing up for the next class though.
Hopefully I'll be taking home 2 more pieces tomorrow night.

I had my first shot of throwing pots, the other night.....OMG I feel like I have no control over how they turn out. It was great fun though and I giggled to myself just about the whole time. I did however end up with a small bowl, a larger bowl and something that I think will end up being a jug.

I also managed to have a go at Sgrafitto. Just the small bowl, but hoping to do a better desin on the begger bowl tomorrow.

My second finished item.
Daliesk Melting clock bowl - made with coils and slightly triangular shaped. I used a Glen Fiddich box for the shape of the base.

I'm pleased with it although I was hoping it would be bigger. I love the outside glaze, but the white on the inside could have been more even. I'll try a different white next time.
